METAR weather reports
A METAR is an aerodrome weather observation. METAR reports can contain the reporting station, observation time, wind, visibility, present weather, cloud, temperature, dew point, atmospheric pressure, runway visual range, trend information and remarks. The METAR Decoder separates supported report groups into readable fields while preserving the original coded report.
TAF weather forecasts
A TAF is a terminal aerodrome forecast. TAF reports use compact aviation weather groups together with forecast validity periods and change groups. The TAF Decoder identifies supported forecast periods, weather conditions and changes without silently inventing meanings for unsupported content.
NOTAMs
NOTAMs communicate operational aviation information concerning aerodromes, airspace, navigation facilities and other conditions relevant to flight operations. AviationDecoder supports documented U.S. domestic and structured international NOTAM content covered by the decoder.
SIGMETs and AIRMETs
SIGMETs and AIRMETs communicate aviation weather information and hazards. AviationDecoder interprets the documented formats covered by its source material and leaves unsupported forms uninterpreted rather than reconstructing them by assumption.
ICAO and IATA airport codes
The Airport Code Decoder looks up exact ICAO and IATA airport identifiers. Examples include LKPR and PRG, KJFK and JFK, and EGLL and LHR. Airport results can include the airport name, municipality, country, coordinates and elevation where available.
Aviation weather codes and abbreviations
The Aviation Weather Code Lookup provides supported meanings for weather and cloud abbreviations such as CAVOK, RA, BR and BKN. Source-backed weather vocabulary and separately documented report syntax are distinguished where appropriate.
Squawk and transponder codes
The Squawk Code Decoder identifies documented transponder codes such as 7500, 7600 and 7700. Not every structurally valid four-digit octal code has a published special-purpose meaning, so arbitrary ATC-assigned codes are not given invented interpretations.
Source-backed aviation decoding
AviationDecoder separates decoded values, calculated information and explanatory reference content where applicable. Unsupported report groups are preserved rather than silently assigned a meaning. This makes it easier to compare the explanation with the original aviation information.
